I will provide the following tips to be safe in their activities on the Internet.
1. Use the Operating System, Web Browser, Instant Messenger and Email Software Up to Date
If you access the Internet at home you should use the operating system, web browser and email software up to date. Why so? Usually the old software not being updated has a security hole that could be exploited by others for crimes on the Internet.
If possible, do download and install it on a regular basis patch (latest update) of software that you use it.
2. Install Firewall on Your Computer
A firewall is software that helps to protect your computer from attacks by crackers. Usually, each operating system already has a firewall in it. The problem is the software is active or not.
If not we recommend you enable the firewall on it so your computer more secure.
3. Install Anti-Spyware
Spyware is software that is usually used to collect information through the Internet connection. Generally used for advertising purposes.
Spyware causing a slow Internet connection, pop-ups, open security holes in computers, and so forth.
